This scene was waiting just off the road down to Key West. Carol McArdle was travelling to be at her art show opening at Masterpiece Gallery and as usual the drive took all day due to her having to stop every time something caught Carol's eye.
The reward of her scouting for Florida's beauty was this ancient buttonwood tree leaning right out over the water and the purple flowers of climbing morning glory vines dotted the green canopy of leaves. The great egret stretching it's wings is icing on the cake of this tropical scene that could be one from thousands of years ago. Among all the rapid development it will take diligence to preserve some of nature's beauty such as that seen in "Basking in the Beauty".
