This panting is the result of a grant from LINC (the Legacy Institute for Nature and Culture) to become a part of National Geographic's map division. As well as Carol McArdle, nine other artists were chosen to paint parts of the Everglades. The locations they chose, with the resulting artwork became a part of the NatGeo map.
