To paint this plein air piece I was sitting under the thick canopy of large leaves on one of the ancient sea grape limbs close to the ground. Another family vacationing from Europe had also sheltered under the trees and it was a cosy but friendly arrangement!
The sounds and view of the tropical beach were otherworldly and heavenly and I was indeed in a sacred sanctuary. Such places are rare as many beaches are turned into commercial places of just water and sand. We need to preserve the sacred sanctuaries that nature has taken hundreds, thousands and sometimes millions of years to create.
